John Lynn Theory Hour

In Theory Hour, John Lynn spoke to all of us about viewing our population as a storm. We are so fixed on being the conquers rather than the incorporated creatures of this planet. He said, "We act as though we don't belong. We do not define or place. What was. Not what is. If we want to, we can tap into the beauty of this planet." I thought that was really a beautiful statement and well put. I understood where he was coming from as he explained how perfectly nature flows and the rhythm of the Earth and how we are constructively destructive and have carbon everywhere and are just bringing all of our problems with building into view.
He spoke about Green Building and buildings being considered, "Platinum". He showed us images of different green buildings and they were absolutely fascinating. One of the platinum rated buildings is the Proximity Hotel.
The biggest topic that John Lynn spoke about was the importance of the 2030 Challenge. This challenge was created by a man named, Ed Mazria. He said that this challenge was to make buildings in the United States with less carbon and completely carbon neutral by 2030. We are to immediatley begin reducing the carbon in buildings to 50% this year. I thought this was really great and never realized how bad our country was with the issue of carbon.
