My Final Twig Project

After so much change in my previous prototypes, I decided to incorporate the process of evolution, growth and change into my final product. The top section represents the twigs growth--reaching toward the sky. The center section, discovery, strength and development. There are more than twelve holes for the twigs because each twig was found over time and on a pathway. Paths lead to discovery and change over time. Finally, the bottom section shows the brokenness of the twigs; their death/end of their life. The curve symbolizes the curves that each twig possesses and the specks of super glue were used as a 'Velum' style finish to accentuate the specks and unique markings on each twig.

I used a medium weight paper, super glue as a finish and rubber cement as my binding agent.

Here you can see the twigs each have their own specific place. There are not extra holes at this view, as there are in the center, because this is their specific place in the final growth stage.

This view allows one to see the unique markings on the paper as well as on each twig. I placed the twigs strategically in this curved way so that anyone could view each twig from every angle. Also, to allow the natural curves in the twigs to be incorporated into the final form.
