Lisa Field

I absolutely loved browsing Lisa Field's blog http://www.lisafields.blogspot.com/and her ingenious work! Tonight I ventured to her site via Tommy Kane's blog http://www.tommykane.blogspot.com/ . The thing that really captured my eye on her blog was her use of calming colors. The gray lettering that provides the title of the page, the pale blue text of the links and the simplicity of the layout were so inviting and inventive. The calming effect of the colors allowed me to relax and concentrate on her work, as well as the feelings she was trying to convey through the facial expressions of her candidates.

Her artwork is beautiful and moving in such a subtle way. The work displays a roller coaster of emotions as you scroll down the page. From a girl smiling wildly, to a man sleeping on an airplane, to a woman knee deep in work and concentration. I love the color choices, sometimes they are the natural colors of people and sometimes she throws in a work that is unnatural, such as the teenager who has a green face.

Lisa Field's blog stood out to me for its historical, psychological and artistic effects. I love looking at artwork, architecture, sculptures, listening to music and/or watching a musician perform music and feeling the emotion the artist wanted to convey to the audience. I enjoy seeing the natural and emotional connection in her artwork. I am inspired to create my own art that allows people to feel and draw emotion from for life.
